  1. A visual table shows: house-picture + 's' ending = 'houses'. car-picture + 's' = 'cars'. tree-picture + 's' = 'trees'. A new picture shows a bird + 's'. What does this represent?

    Answer: Birds (plural of bird)

Picture of noun + 's' = plural of that noun. Bird + 's' = birds.

  2. A picture shows two symbols: [magnifying glass] = 'examine', [broken arrow] = 'fail'. A sentence image shows: [magnifying glass] + [broken arrow]. What does this combined image mean?

Answer: Failed examination OR examined and failed

Combining two symbols creates a compound meaning: examine + fail = 'failed examination' or 'examined and failed.'

  3. A visual rule shows: triangle = question marker (placed at the end of sentences). Statement: [circle][square][oval] (words). Question version: [circle][square][oval][triangle]. A new sentence [diamond][star][oval] needs to be made into a question. What is the question form?

    Answer: [diamond][star][oval][triangle]

Question marker [triangle] always goes at the END of the sentence.

  4. A visual grammar uses boxes with colors: [yellow box] = noun phrase, [blue box] = verb phrase. Inside a yellow box you see: [black dot] = definite, [white dot] = indefinite. A box shows: [yellow][black dot][running person image]. What does this represent?

Answer: The runner (definite noun phrase referring to a specific running person)

Yellow=noun phrase, black dot=definite, running person=the noun → 'the runner' (definite NP).

  5. A visual vocabulary card shows: [picture of hand] = 'manu', [picture of two hands] = 'manudu', [picture of many hands] = 'manumos'. A new card shows [picture of foot]. Following the pattern, what would 'two feet' look like?

Answer: [two feet picture] = 'pedu' (if foot = 'pe')

    By the pattern: base = singular, base+du = two, base+mos = many. Two feet = foot-root + '-du'.

  6. A visual shows a transformation: Input sentence symbols [A][B][C] → Output [C][B][A] (reversed order). This represents a grammar rule (e.g., passive voice or question formation). You input [X][Y][Z]. What is the output?

    Answer: [Z][Y][X]

The transformation reverses the order of all elements: [X][Y][Z] → [Z][Y][X].
