CSSD Certification Exam

The Central Sterile Services Department (CSSD) certification exam validates the competency of sterile processing technicians responsible for decontamination, sterilization, and distribution of surgical instruments and medical devices. The exam covers decontamination processes, instrument identification, packaging techniques, steam and low-temperature sterilization, sterile storage, microbiology, quality assurance, flexible endoscope reprocessing, workplace safety, instrument tracking, and regulatory compliance. Certification is offered by bodies such as the Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) and CBSPD.
