Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT)
The CPAT is a standardized pre-employment physical ability test developed by the IAFF/IAFC that evaluates firefighter candidates' readiness to perform eight job-related physical tasks simulating real fireground duties. Candidates must complete all eight events within 10 minutes and 20 seconds while wearing a 50-pound weighted vest.
