CLBA — The CLBA (Canadian Language Benchmark Assessment) is a standardized English language proficiency assessment aligned with the Canadian Language Benchmarks (CLB) framework, developed by the Centre for Canadian Language Benchmarks (CCLB) and administered by accredited Language Assessment Centres across Canada; it evaluates adult immigrants across four skill areas — listening, speaking, reading, and writing — at benchmark levels 1–12 and does not use a single pass/fail score; test-takers receive a CLB level placement used for immigration, employment, and post-secondary educational purposes. This practice exam targets the CLB 5–8 range, the most commonly tested band for employment and immigration pathways.
READ THE FOLLOWING NOTICE, THEN ANSWER QUESTIONS 1–5. --- NOTICE TO ALL RESIDENTS — CITY OF FERNDALE RECYCLING UPDATE Effective October 1st, the City of Ferndale is expanding its curbside recycling program. The following changes will apply to all residential properties: Blue Bin (Recycling): Blue bins will now accept all plastics labeled #1 through #7, glass bottles and jars (rinsed), aluminum and steel cans, and flattened cardboard boxes. Items that are NOT accepted include plastic bags, Styrofoam packaging, electronics, and any containers with food residue. Green Bin (Organics): Meat, fish, and dairy scraps are now accepted in addition to fruit and vegetable peelings, coffee grounds and filters, and eggshells. Garden waste — including grass clippings, leaves, and branches — must be placed in a separate kraft paper yard waste bag available at City Hall and participating hardware stores. Residents who require additional bins or wish to report collection issues may call 311, send an email to recycling@ferndale.ca, or visit the city's waste management portal at ferndale.ca/waste. Garbage pickup days remain unchanged.
