A train travels at 90 mph. How far does it travel in 40 minutes?
Answer: 60 miles
40 minutes = 2/3 of an hour. Distance = 90 × (2/3) = 60 miles.
A team of 6 completes a task in 10 days. How many days would it take a team of 15?
Answer: 4 days
Total work = 6 × 10 = 60 person-days. Time for 15 people = 60 ÷ 15 = 4 days.
A courier service quotes delivery in 3–5 working days. An order is placed on Wednesday afternoon. What is the earliest possible delivery day (assuming Wednesday doesn't count)?
Answer: Monday
Thursday (Day 1), Friday (Day 2), Monday (Day 3 — weekend skipped). Earliest delivery is Monday.
A clock is 4 minutes slow. It currently shows 14:38. What is the correct time?
Answer: 14:42
If the clock is 4 minutes slow, the actual time is 4 minutes ahead of what it shows: 14:38 + 4 = 14:42.
