A train leaves at 07:55 and arrives at 11:20. The journey includes a 15-minute stop. What is the actual travel time (excluding the stop)?
Answer: 3 hours 10 minutes
Total time = 11:20 − 07:55 = 3 hours 25 minutes. Travel time = 3 hours 25 minutes − 15 minutes = 3 hours 10 minutes.
Two cars start at the same point and travel in opposite directions. Car A travels at 60 mph and Car B at 40 mph. After 2 hours, how far apart are they?
