CBP Data Management 3 — Questions and Answers
Question 1: When importing a file into Adobe Campaign, which field mapping step is essential to ensure data lands in the correct database columns?
- Assigning a workflow label
- Mapping source file columns to target schema fields (Correct answer)
- Setting the delivery schedule
- Configuring the unsubscribe link
Correct answer: Mapping source file columns to target schema fields
Column mapping tells Campaign which file column corresponds to which database field, preventing data from being written to the wrong attribute.
Question 2: What is the role of the 'targetData' object in Adobe Campaign personalization?
- It stores global campaign configuration settings
- It provides access to data from the current workflow's working population for use in content personalization (Correct answer)
- It defines the IP affinity for a delivery
- It controls the throttling speed of an email send
Correct answer: It provides access to data from the current workflow's working population for use in content personalization
targetData exposes attributes from the workflow's enriched population, enabling dynamic content blocks and personalization fields in message templates.
Question 3: In Adobe Campaign, which subscription mechanism automatically removes a profile from a service when they click an 'unsubscribe' link?
- Quarantine rule
- Opt-out / unsubscription service link (Correct answer)
- Blacklist import
- Typology rule
Correct answer: Opt-out / unsubscription service link
An unsubscription service link in a delivery automatically updates the profile's subscription status, removing them from the targeted service list.
Question 4: What is the maximum recommended file size for a single flat-file import in Adobe Campaign Standard to avoid performance issues?
- 100 MB (Correct answer)
- 500 MB
- 1 GB
- There is no documented limit — it scales automatically
Correct answer: 100 MB
Adobe recommends keeping individual import files under 100 MB; larger files should be split to avoid memory pressure and timeout issues.
Question 5: Which Adobe Campaign data management feature lets you build a reusable audience once and reference it across multiple campaigns?
- Shared audience (People core service integration) (Correct answer)
- Transactional message template
- Content fragment
- Delivery mapping
Correct answer: Shared audience (People core service integration)
Shared Audiences, powered by the People core service and Adobe Experience Cloud, allow segments built in one solution to be imported and reused in Campaign.
Question 6: In a Campaign workflow, what is the outcome of an 'Intersection' activity applied to two populations?
- The combined union of both populations with no duplicates
- Only the records that exist in both populations simultaneously (Correct answer)
- All records from the first population excluding the second
- A random 50/50 split of the first population
Correct answer: Only the records that exist in both populations simultaneously
Intersection returns only the records common to all input sets, similar to a SQL INNER JOIN or set-theory intersection.
Question 7: What does enabling 'Generate an outbound transition for rejects' on an import activity in Adobe Campaign allow you to do?
- Automatically retry failed imports after 24 hours
- Route rows that failed validation into a separate workflow branch for handling (Correct answer)
- Send an alert SMS to the database administrator
- Archive rejected rows to a permanent audit table
Correct answer: Route rows that failed validation into a separate workflow branch for handling
This option creates an additional workflow transition carrying the rejected records, so they can be logged, corrected, or reported without stopping the main flow.
