CBEST — The California Basic Educational Skills Test (CBEST) is administered by Pearson on behalf of the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC). It consists of three sections — Reading (50 questions, 70 min), Mathematics (50 questions, 70 min), and Writing (2 essays, 60 min). Each section is scored on a scale of 20–80; a passing score requires a total scaled score of at least 123 across all three sections with no single section below 37.
