A cone has a radius of 5 cm and a height of 12 cm. What is its volume? (Use π ≈ 3.14)
Answer: 314 cm³
V = (1/3)πr²h = (1/3) × 3.14 × 25 × 12 = 314 cm³.
On a coordinate plane, which quadrant contains the point (−3, 5)?
Answer: Quadrant II
Negative x and positive y places the point in Quadrant II.
A polygon has 8 sides. What is the sum of its interior angles?
Answer: 1080°
Sum = (n − 2) × 180 = (8 − 2) × 180 = 6 × 180 = 1080°.
What is the area of a trapezoid with parallel sides of 6 cm and 10 cm and a height of 4 cm?
Answer: 32 cm²
Area = ½ × (b₁ + b₂) × h = ½ × (6 + 10) × 4 = 32 cm².
A point is reflected across the x-axis. If the original point is (4, −3), what is the image?
Answer: (4, 3)
Reflecting across the x-axis negates the y-coordinate: (4, −3) → (4, 3).
Which pair of angles are formed on opposite sides of a transversal between two parallel lines and are inside the parallel lines?
Answer: Alternate interior angles
Alternate interior angles are between the parallel lines and on opposite sides of the transversal.
The perimeter of a regular pentagon is 45 cm. What is the length of one side?
Answer: 9 cm
A regular pentagon has 5 equal sides; 45 ÷ 5 = 9 cm per side.
