CAHSEE — The California High School Exit Exam (CAHSEE) was a mandatory graduation requirement administered by the California Department of Education, consisting of two sections — English Language Arts (79 multiple-choice questions plus one writing task) and Mathematics (80 multiple-choice questions) — with a passing score of 350 out of 450 on each section; the exam was suspended by SB 172 in 2015 and permanently eliminated in 2018.
