C7 — The California C7 Low Voltage Systems Contractor license is issued by the California Contractors State License Board (CSLB). Candidates must pass a PSI-administered trade exam (approximately 100 questions, 2.5 hours) covering NEC Articles 725, 760, 800, 820, and 830; NFPA 72; TIA/EIA cabling standards; alarm, CCTV, access control, and AV systems; plus a separate Law & Business exam. Passing score is 70%.
