A right triangle has legs of 6 ft and 8 ft. What is the area of the triangle?
Answer: 24 sq ft
Area of a triangle = ½ × base × height = ½ × 6 × 8 = 24 sq ft.
A cylinder has a volume of 314 cm³ and a height of 10 cm. What is its radius? (Use π ≈ 3.14)
Answer: 3.16 cm
r² = V ÷ (π × h) = 314 ÷ (3.14 × 10) = 10, so r = √10 ≈ 3.16 cm.
A rectangle has an area of 36 cm² and a length of 12 cm. What is its width?
Answer: 3 cm
Width = Area ÷ Length = 36 ÷ 12 = 3 cm.
A square piece of land has an area of 225 m². What is the perimeter of the land?
Answer: 60 m
Side = √225 = 15 m; perimeter = 4 × 15 = 60 m.
A hemisphere (half sphere) has a radius of 5 cm. What is its volume? (Use π ≈ 3.14)
Answer: 261.7 cm³
Volume of a hemisphere = (2/3) × π × r³ = (2/3) × 3.14 × 125 ≈ 261.7 cm³.
A rhombus has diagonals of 10 cm and 8 cm. What is its area?
Answer: 40 cm²
Area of a rhombus = (d₁ × d₂) ÷ 2 = (10 × 8) ÷ 2 = 40 cm².
A rectangular prism has a volume of 360 cm³, a length of 10 cm, and a width of 6 cm. What is its height?
Answer: 6 cm
Height = Volume ÷ (length × width) = 360 ÷ (10 × 6) = 360 ÷ 60 = 6 cm.
