  1. A 10 V source is connected across two parallel resistors of 4 Ω and 12 Ω. What is the total current supplied by the source?

    Answer: 3.33 A

    The parallel combination is (4×12)/(4+12) = 3 Ω, so I = 10/3 ≈ 3.33 A.

  2. In a series RLC circuit at resonance, what is the impedance equal to?

    Answer: R only

    At resonance the inductive and capacitive reactances cancel, leaving only the resistance R.

  3. What is the time constant of a series RC circuit with R = 2 kΩ and C = 50 μF?

    Answer: 0.1 s

    τ = RC = 2000 × 50×10⁻⁶ = 0.1 seconds.

  4. Using the superposition theorem, how are the individual source contributions combined to find the total response?

    Answer: Algebraically added

    Superposition states that the total response is the algebraic sum of responses due to each independent source acting alone.

  5. A node in a circuit has three branches carrying currents of 5 A (in), 3 A (out), and I (out). By KCL, what is I?

    Answer: 2 A

    By Kirchhoff's Current Law, currents entering equal currents leaving: 5 = 3 + I, so I = 2 A.

  6. What is the maximum power transfer condition for a DC circuit with source resistance Rs?

    Answer: Load resistance equals Rs

    Maximum power is delivered to the load when the load resistance equals the source resistance.
