What is the volume of a rectangular prism with length 5 cm, width 4 cm, and height 3 cm?
Answer: 60 cm³
Volume of a rectangular prism = l × w × h = 5 × 4 × 3 = 60 cm³.
How many inches are in 3.5 feet?
Answer: 42 inches
Since 1 foot = 12 inches, 3.5 feet × 12 = 42 inches.
The volume of a cylinder with radius 4 cm and height 10 cm is approximately: (Use π ≈ 3.14)
Answer: 502.4 cm³
Volume of a cylinder = π × r² × h = 3.14 × 16 × 10 = 502.4 cm³.
If a patient's chart records a temperature of 37°C, what is the equivalent in Fahrenheit? (F = 9/5 × C + 32)
Answer: 98.6°F
F = (9/5 × 37) + 32 = 66.6 + 32 = 98.6°F, which is normal human body temperature.
A line segment has endpoints at coordinates (1, 2) and (4, 6). What is the length of the segment?
Answer: 5 units
Distance = √[(4−1)² + (6−2)²] = √[9 + 16] = √25 = 5 units.
What is the surface area of a cube with an edge length of 3 inches?
Answer: 54 in²
A cube has 6 faces; surface area = 6 × s² = 6 × 3² = 6 × 9 = 54 in².
