Savings = $360; rent = $720; total spent = $1,080; $2,400 − $1,080 = $1,320.
A tank crew completes a maintenance check in 45 minutes. If they complete 8 checks in a day, how many total hours do they spend on maintenance checks?
Answer: 6 hours
8 × 45 = 360 minutes; 360 ÷ 60 = 6 hours.
A military warehouse stores crates weighing 65 lbs each. A forklift can carry a maximum of 975 lbs. How many crates can the forklift carry in one load?
Answer: 15
975 ÷ 65 = 15 crates.
A platoon of 40 soldiers must complete a 10-mile march. If 25% fall out before finishing, how many soldiers complete the march?
Answer: 30
25% of 40 = 10 soldiers fall out; 40 − 10 = 30 soldiers finish.
A ship travels at 18 knots for 6 hours, then at 24 knots for 4 hours. What is the total distance traveled in nautical miles?
Answer: 192 nm
