ASTB-E — The ASTB-E (Aviation Selection Test Battery, Edition E) is administered by the U.S. Naval Education and Training Professional Development Command (NETPDC) and used by the Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard to select candidates for pilot, Naval Flight Officer (NFO), and air traffic controller training; it consists of multiple subtests including Math Skills Test (30 questions, 40 min), Reading Skills Test (27 questions, 30 min), Mechanical Comprehension Test (30 questions, 15 min), Aviation and Nautical Information Test (30 questions, 15 min), and computerized Performance Based Measures; scores yield OAR, AQR, PFAR, and FOFAR composite ratings on a 1–9 scale.
