Which command gives a surface thickness to create a solid, or offsets a surface to a new location?
Answer: Thicken/Offset
Thicken/Offset adds thickness to faces or quilts to make a solid, or with surface output it creates an offset surface.
Which Inventor environment is used to fix gaps and bad edges in imported surface data before stitching?
Answer: Repair environment
The Repair environment has tools for finding and fixing errors in imported bodies and then stitching them.
What does G1 continuity mean between two surfaces?
Answer: The surfaces touch and share tangency at the joint
G1 is tangent continuity, where position and tangent direction match along the shared edge.
How can a surface body be used with the Split command?
Answer: As the split tool to divide a face or a solid body
Split accepts surfaces, work planes, or sketches as the split tool for faces, parts, or solids.
What happens when a Loft between open profiles has its output set to Surface?
Answer: It makes a lofted surface body through the profiles
Surface output allows open profiles and produces a surface body instead of a solid.
In the Freeform (T-spline) environment, what does the Convert command do?
Answer: Converts a solid or surface body into a freeform body
Convert changes an existing B-rep body into an editable T-spline freeform body.
Why can Replace Face fail when a surface is used as the new face?
Answer: The surface does not fully cover the area of the face being replaced
The replacement surface must fully extend across the solid so the adjacent faces can be trimmed to it.
