English is one of the most widely spoken languages in the world, and it is also the language spoken by hundreds of millions of people every day in nations where it is not the primary language. If you’ve worked as an English teacher, are in the process of becoming one, or want to become one, you’ll agree that speaking, comprehending, and writing the language correctly is a significant aspect of a person’s profile, both professionally and personally.
Those that pass the TKT assessment have demonstrated that they are:
1. familiar with different teaching methodologies
2. know how to use teaching resources effectively
3. understand key aspects of lesson planning
4. can use different classroom management methods for different needs.
TKT is assessed using a multiple-choice test that consists of three core modules that can be completed in any order, either together or separately. Each module can be completed separately, and you can choose how and when you take the assessments.
