What's the difference between PL 400 - Microsoft Certified Power Platform Developer Associate and similar certifications?

I'm trying to figure out which cert to prioritize and the PL 400 - Microsoft Certified Power Platform Developer Associate keeps coming up alongside a few others in job listings.

Can someone who's been through the hiring process explain: does having PL 400 - Microsoft Certified Power Platform Developer Associate actually differentiate you, or do most employers treat it the same as the alternatives?

Also — is there a renewal/continuing education requirement? I've heard some certs expire every 2-3 years and I want to factor in the ongoing commitment before I commit to one path.
