What is Accuplacer used for?
The Accuplacer platform or program is designed to help institutions in the placement of test-takers in their appropriate college-level courses. You can either take a written placement test or take the Accuplacer test online through Computer Adaptive Testing (CAT). Furthermore, the college Accuplacer test consists of three main tests: the Next Generation Tests, Classic Placement Tests, and Diagnostic Tests.
The  Accuplacer Next Generation composes of the new tests that focus on college readiness and success. It made changes to the Classic Placement tests. It has content specifications such as it aligns with the content domain of the redesigned SAT assessments, the standard for the states’ college and career readiness, and it reflects the changes that can be seen in higher education.Â
